Notes are the name of the pitches. Here is the order of the notes.
Higher the pitch ->
C D E – F G A B – C
<- Lower the pitch
Between E-F and B-C are half steps. The rest are whole steps (1 whole step = 2 half steps).
Accidentals
- #(Sharp) – To raise a note half step
- b(Flat) – To lower a note half step
Using the accidentals, we can write out the other half notes.
C – C#(Db) – D – D#(Eb) – E – F – F#(Gb) – G – G#(Ab) – A – A#(Bb) – B – C
Technically C# and Db are the same note. But in classical music, they are different.
