Tonality is how a group of notes sound relative to one note (root, tonic). It can be applied to intervals, triads, scales etc. it is important once you figure out the notes, try to “feel” how it sounds like.
Major tonality

Because of the major interval between the root and the third, no matter what you stack it is considered major tonality
Minor tonality

Because of the minor interval between the root and the third, no matter what you stack it is considered minor tonality.
